After all is said and done, you are left with a sense of bewilderment. You start ruminating about the purpose of it all. Was this a joke?
Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with a terrible case of bedhead hair. I couldn't do it to look decent. As I was running out the door, I fell and landed all over the carpet. To make matters worse, I was extremely late for work.
I sweating. My {boss|teacher|was absolutely furious. I attempted to explain, but it was pointless.
The rest of the day was absolutely horrendous. went wrong. I get anything done.
By the time I got home, I was exhausted. This day, this terrible day will be forever remembered as the worst day ever.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
